1. To turn your Bell HD receiver into an HD PVR , you'll need an external hard drive that matches the specifications.

2. Attach the power cord to your external hard-drive and plug it into a wall outlet.

3. Connect one end of the USB cable that came with your external hard-drive into the hard drive and the other end into the USB port on the receiver.
Note: If the hard-drive is not correctly formatted or has been connected to a different device, you will be asked to reformat it. This will erase all data stored on the hard drive so make sure you have made a back-up of your data.

4. Your receiver will check to see if your external hard drive is compatible.

5. Select Yes.

6. Wait for your hard drive to be formatted, and for your receiver to restart.

7. To record a program to the external hard drive, press GUIDE.

8. Navigate to the program you wish to set the timer for, then press SELECT.

9. Scroll to and select PVR.

10. Scroll to and select Create Timer.
The program will be recorded to the external hard-drive.
