Message Manager

Accessing Message Manager

Customer access numbers:

Access Message Manager from your office

From your office:

  1. Dial your access number 204 225-0000 .
  2. Enter your password. For your first access, this is your own 10-digit telephone number.

Access Message Manager from another location

  1. Dial your access number (204 225-0000 ).
  2. Listen to the introductory prompts.
  3. Press #.
  4. Enter your mailbox number (your telephone number).
  5. Enter your password (when you access the service for the first time, your password will be your 10-digit phone number).

Message Manager will take your calls when your line is busy or isn't answered. You can create separate Busy and No Answer greetings. Busy Greeting lets callers know that you are in the office, but on the phone at the moment, and to leave a message. You can choose either a personal or standard greeting.

Press * immediately to skip through the re-playing of your personal greeting.

Callers will hear your personal greeting and they can leave a message. Your callers can also be provided with the option of pressing zero to speak to someone else such as your receptionist. The Caller Line ID will be deposited in the envelope information for those customers not using call blocking or cellular phones. The envelope information will include the area code (if applicable), phone number and name (if applicable) of the caller. The envelope information is provided when you press 5 after listening to the message.

Message Manager will also allow you several options once you've listened to the message (for some of the following, you must press 0 for more options):

  • Press 8 to reply to another Message Manager subscriber.
  • Press 6 to forward a message to another Message Manager subscriber with your remarks.
  • Press 2 to create and send a message within your Message Manager mailbox to another subscriber.
  • Press 4 to replay the message.
  • Press 5 to hear the envelope information for that message.
  • Press 7 to erase the message.
  • Press 9 to save the message.

Retrieve your messages from any Touch Tone™ phone, anywhere, anytime. To access your messages while away from the office, dial 204-225-0000. You won't incur long distance charges if you dial 204-225-0000 within Manitoba. Outside of Manitoba, please dial 1 866 GET-MSGS (1-866-438-6747) toll-free in Canada and the U.S. Press 2 for Message Manager. When calling into Message Manager from international destinations, call the Canada Direct Access number of the country you are in, follow the voice prompts.

Turning date and time playback on or off

You can hear the date and time the message was left before every message is played. To turn this on or off, just follow these easy instructions:

  1. Press *99.
  2. Enter your password.
  3. Choose 4 Personal Options from the main menu.
  4. Choose 2 Administrative Options.
  5. Choose 4 Date & Time.
  6. Follow the prompts to turn it on or off.

Using distribution lists

A distribution list lets you send one voicemail message to other Bell MTS voicemail users at once.

How to edit an existing distribution list

Step 1

  1. Dial *99.
  2. Enter Password then press #.
  3. Go to Personal Options by pressing 4.
  4. Select Option 2 for Administrative Options.
  5. Go to Option 2 to change or establish distribution list.

Step 2

  1. Press 2 to edit distribution list.
  2. Enter the group distribution list number that you wish to edit.
  3. Distribution list name will be played back.
  4. To add or remove a member to the distribution list, enter the Bell MTS mailbox number of that person then press #.
    • Or Press 1 to listen to names on this distribution list.
  5. Prompt will confirm it's added.
  6. Repeat 4 and 5 of Step 2 if adding more mailboxes.

How to set up a new distribution list

A distribution list lets you send one voicemail message to other Bell MTS voicemail users at once.

Step 1

  1. Dial *99.
  2. Enter Password then press #.
  3. Go to Personal Options by pressing 4.
  4. Select Option 2 for Administrative Options.
  5. Go to Option 2 to change or establish distribution list.

Step 2

  1. Press 1 to create new distribution list.
  2. Choose a number between 1 - 25.
  3. Assign a name to the group by saying the name then press #.
  4. To add or remove a member to the distribution list, enter the Bell MTS mailbox number of that person then press #.
    • Or Press 1 to listen to names on this distribution list.
  5. Prompt will confirm it's added.
  6. Repeat 3-5 of Step 2 if adding more mailboxes.

How to set up extension mailboxes

  1. Dial *99.
  2. Enter Password.
  3. Choose 4 for Personal Options.
  4. Choose 9 for Extensions.
  5. Follow the verbal instructions.

Retrieving messages from an extension mailbox

  1. Dial *99.
  2. Follow the prompts to retrieve your messages.

If you want to check another message without hanging up:

  1. Press * to return to the main menu.
  2. Press 5, followed by #.
  3. Enter the mailbox number and your password.

Accessing Voicemail manager

To access the Voicemail manager, you must set up your voicemail via your phone first using the temporary password. Once you’ve set up your voicemail permanent password, you can access Voicemail manager.

  1. Launch your browser and go to www.bellmts.ca/vm.
  2. Enter your ten-digit telephone number (e.g., 2041235555)
  3. Enter the same password you use for your telephone voicemail.

    Note:

    You must enter your telephone voicemail password in numeric format.

  4. Click Log In to access your Voicemail manager account.

You will be prompted to set up your Voicemail manager password.

  1. Enter your email address in the Email address field (If you forget your Voicemail manager password and request a password reset link, we’ll send it to this email address).
  2. Re-enter your email address in the Confirm email address field.
  3. Choose a password and enter it in the New Voicemail manager password field.

Tip:

Must be at least 10 characters long. You should use three or more of the following: at least one uppercase letter (A-Z), one lower case letter (a-z), one number (0-9) and one special character (!@#$...).

  1. Re-enter your password in the Confirm Voicemail manager password field.
  2. Click on Set password.
