How to log in to a Bell MTS Wi-Fi hotspot

At a Bell MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot:

  1. Turn your Wi-Fi on.
  2. Open your Wi-Fi settings and connect to Bell MTS Hotspot usually called #Bell MTS Wi-Fi.
  3. Open an Internet browser window.
  4. If presented with the Bell Mobility customer Wi-Fi access page:

    For Bell MTS High Speed Internet customers

    1. Select With your Bell MTS Login ID
    2. Enter your Login ID.
    3. Your login ID is dependent upon your Internet plan. The realm (the info after the @ symbol) is slightly different for each plan. For example:

      • userID@res1.mts.net (Essential, Fibe, Entrepreneur plans)
      • userID@bslv1.mts.net (Professional)
    4. Enter your Internet service password. This is not to be confused with your home Wi-Fi password. If you don't know your internet service password, please contact us.

    For Bell Mobility customers

    1. Select With your Bell Mobility phone number.
    2. Enter your 10-digit Bell Mobility phone number, to receive a 4-digit verification code by text message.
    3. Enter 4-digit verification code found in the body of the text message.

      Bell customers will be automatically connected to any Bell MTS Hotspot locations for maximum of 30 days from the previous registration.

      After 30 days, they need to re-register again.

How will non-Bell MTS customers be billed?

You will need to purchase time in order to use a Bell MTS hotspot if you are not an Internet or Wireless customer.

To purchase time:

  1. Open your laptop or your device.
  2. Connect to the MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot Wireless Network.
  3. Open your browser - you will be re-directed to the login page.
  4. Click on Purchase Time.
  5. Create a new User ID and Password. Once created, any banked time remains for future use.
  6. Enter an email address to receive an electronic copy of your credit card purchase.
  7. Purchase Time.
  8. Surf the Web.

Why does Bell MTS use the Wi-Fi 802.11g wireless standard?

The 802.11g Wi-Fi standard is so widely accepted that it has become the industry standard for wireless networking. IEEE 802.11g is an established and mature standard. In fact, many laptop manufacturers actually include Wi-Fi cards in standard configurations.

Do I need to load software or change settings on my laptop?

There is no need to load additional software as long as you have an operating system, web browser, 802.11g (or faster) wireless card. However, you may need to adjust your hardware settings.

Can I connect to my company's network?

If your company allows remote access then you will be able to connect to the network. As an extra security measure, many companies use VPNs. The Wi-Fi Hotspot network is generally compatible with this software.

Who is responsible for Wi-Fi Hotspot maintenance at my business?

Bell MTS is responsible for maintaining the Wi-Fi Hotspot at your location. If there is a technical issue (i.e The Wi-Fi equipment or network is not working) you can call our Wi-Fi Vendor Support line at 1-866-328-7678. If you're customers are experiencing problems with their Wi-Fi account, they will be directed to call our Wi-Fi Customer Support line at 1-866-402-9434.
