How to move my Fibe TV Wireless Receiver to a new location in my home

Disconnecting and reconnecting your Fibe Wireless Receiver

Before disconnecting and reconnecting your Fibe Wireless Receiver, be sure to turn off the power on the TV and any audio/video equipment connected to the Wireless Receiver.

  1. Unplug the Wireless Receiver power cord and disconnect the audio/video cables you’re using to connect the receiver to your television.
  2. Move your receiver to its new location and make sure that it is a cool, dry, safe, and well ventilated area.
  3. Reconnect the audio/video cables from the receiver to your TV and plug in the Wireless Receiver power cord.
  4. Turn on the TV and tune to the input (HDMI1, HDMI2, Video1 etc.) that you plugged the Wireless Receiver into.
  5. Check that signal strength indicator on the front of your receiver shows at least two green bars to complete the move of your Fibe Wireless Receiver.

Checking Wireless Receiver signal strength

Once you've moved your Wireless Receiver, make sure that the wireless signal indicator on the front panel has green bars.

If the wireless signal indicator is showing red bars, it means that the signal strength is weak in your new location.

  • Try shifting the receiver left or right in its new location to see if green bars appear.

If the signal indicator on the wireless receiver continues to display red bars, then locate the wireless receiver transmitter (VAP2500) attached to your Fibe Modem.

  • Now, try moving the Wireless Receiver Transmitter (VAP2500) in its current location to the left or right, or to slightly higher position if possible.

If you're unable to get green bars by simple relocation of the Wireless Receiver or the Wireless Receiver Transmitter, please contact us for further troubleshooting assistance.
